NILP Spring/Fall 2011 Events Calendar

• The Northeast Independent Living Program’s 30th Anniversary Celebration & Annual Meeting was a Great Success!

  The Northeast Independent Living Program, Inc. celebrated our 30th Anniversary on Tuesday, October 19th at The Wyndham Andover Hotel, in Andover. More than 128 people gathered on this auspicious occasion to celebrate over 3 decades of providing services for people with disabilities and their families. Thanks to everyone who attended our gala celebration!!! Stay tuned for some exciting pictures, and personal accounts.
• On the third Wednesday of each month - The NILP Board of Directors meets at our office (20 Ballard Road in Lawrence). Commencing at 5:30 pm. Meetings are open to the public. Subcommittee meetings are not, and are held at various times each month.
• Spanish Peer Counseling Groups/Supervision (Oliva Tejada's Group)
• English Peer Counseling/Supervision Groups (Jo Bower's Group)
• Every other Tuesday afternoon - AST Peer Groups
• Fourth Wednesday of each month - The LOVE Group meetings (Lawrence Organizing Voices for Empowerment)
• On the last Thursday of the month the NILP is offering a Housing Application Workshop for Consumers at The NILP, stay tuned for more details. Contact Matt at 978.687.4288v/tty.

Held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Mass School of Law in Andover, the gathering of Consumers brought their questions and concerns to the State & Municipal officials who joined us for a most productive morning.

Among the Senators, Representatives, and Mayors who came are (l. to r.) Representative Marcos Devers of Lawrence, Representative David Torrisi (Lawrence and North Andover, and Dalia Diaz, the Director of Rumbo Newspaper. Stay tuned for more exciting photos of the Forum’s activities!
