ADA Consulting Services
Learn more about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) consulting services provided by the Northeast Independent Living Program.
Experienced ADA and Accessibility Consultants
We have been a longstanding consultant for dozens of municipalities across Massachusetts. Our philosophy is to inform and educate municipalities, colleges, hotels, and other businesses about ADA regulations and how to properly accommodate people with different needs and abilities.
Passed in July 1990, the ADA is landmark civil rights legislation that helped advance the disability rights movement. The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities and promotes equal access to employment, state and local government programs and services, transportation, telecommunications, businesses, and public spaces. It also requires organizations and businesses that serve the public to make their facilities, goods, and services accessible to people with disabilities.
For an affordable fee, NILP will provide the assistance needed to bring your organization or business into full compliance with ADA regulations and the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board.

Important Information to Know About the ADA
Do you know what to do if you are unable to access a public service due to a disability? Ask for a reasonable accommodation.
Do you know about public building renovations? Any renovations that exceed 30% of the assessed value of the property must include full compliance with ADA and AAB regulations to accommodate all users.
Services Tailored to Your Needs
We are happy to accommodate your individual business or organization’s needs and understand the issues you face. We generally interview staff to allow a greater understanding of accessibility concerns that have come up and provide external insight into our skillset of complying with all factors both locally (Architectural Access Board, MA 521 CMR) and federally (ADA).
Please contact us to discuss your ADA needs. Our services include surveys of existing facilities, new construction plan reviews, guidance on reasonable accommodations for employees, ADA training for facility management and staff, and assistance locating accessible products.
